Spin Qubit Calibration Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for calibrating, tuning, and optimizing spin qubit devices to improve gate fidelity, coherence times, and overall device performance. You will work on experimental hardware and software integration with cross-functional quantum hardware and control teams.
Position is based at one of the company's international labs and contributes directly to the performance and scalability of quantum processors.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include hands-on calibration, system optimization, and development of automated routines and tooling.
- Calibrate and fine-tune spin qubit systems to optimize gate fidelities and coherence times.
- Develop and implement automated calibration routines and control sequences.
- Collaborate with hardware and control electronics teams to integrate devices with software and control systems.
- Improve qubit initialization, readout, and error-mitigation processes.
- Address decoherence, charge noise, crosstalk, and other experimental issues using data-driven approaches.
- Use and develop Python-based tools for data analysis, control, and calibration automation; use version control for code management.
- Document calibration procedures, record results, and present findings to technical teams.
- Contribute to research on scalability and efficiency of quantum hardware.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant hands-on experience; preferred items are labeled.
- Hands-on experience calibrating and measuring solid-state quantum devices (spin qubits or superconducting qubits).
- Strong background in quantum mechanics and semiconductor device physics.
- Experience with cryogenic / low-temperature experimental setups.
- Experience with RF and microwave electronics for qubit control and signal generation.
- Proficiency in Python for data analysis, control automation, and experiment optimization.
- Familiarity with Git or similar version control systems for collaborative software development.
- Experience integrating hardware and control software; familiarity with quantum control software.
- Strong experimental problem-solving skills and ability to diagnose complex device issues.
- Clear technical writing and presentation skills.
- Nice-to-have: prior experience specifically with spin qubit systems, knowledge of quantum error correction, and experience with multi-qubit architectures and scalable hardware design.
Education Requirements
M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Quantum Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
