Senior RF Engineer
QuantWareJob Title
Senior RF Engineer
Role Summary
The Senior RF Engineer will own the end-to-end design, verification, and scaling of the flex interconnect interface used in QuantWare's VIO™ quantum processors. This role combines hands-on RF and signal-integrity engineering with vendor co-development and project leadership to deliver high-frequency, mechanically reliable, and manufacturable flex solutions.
QuantWare encourages applicants with diverse backgrounds and non-linear career paths.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 4+ years of relevant RF engineering, signal-integrity, or high-frequency interconnect design experience; proven experience leading hardware or R&D projects and managing suppliers.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Lead full lifecycle of flex interconnect systems from concept through verification, qualification, and high-volume manufacturing.
- Design for high RF performance and signal integrity while ensuring mechanical reliability, durability, and thermal performance.
- Define and translate RF, mechanical, and system-level specifications into clear vendor requirements and acceptance criteria.
- Manage supplier development schedules and deliverables to meet product roadmap milestones and quality targets.
- Coordinate cross-functional engineering efforts to balance RF, mechanical, and manufacturability constraints.
- Lead, mentor, and grow an engineering team focused on flex interconnects and RF integration.
Requirements
Must-have qualifications and skills:
- Minimum 4+ years hands-on experience in RF engineering, signal integrity, or high-frequency interconnect design (flex circuits, rigid-flex, micro-coaxial interfaces).
- Practical experience with RF simulation tools (e.g., HFSS, CST, ADS) and RF measurement equipment (VNAs, spectrum analyzers, TDR).
- Proven track record delivering hardware or R&D projects from concept through verification to volume production.
- Direct experience managing external vendors, JDM partners, or component suppliers for custom electro-mechanical parts.
- Strong cross-functional communication and alignment skills; ability to lead without direct authority and drive project execution.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience designing hardware for superconducting circuits and cryogenic environments.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
