Job Title

Senior Mechatronics Engineer, Precision Systems

Role Summary

Join the Precision Team to design, prototype, and build lithography, metrology, and motion systems used in semiconductor fabrication. You will own end-to-end development of electromechanical tools and subsystems and move prototypes rapidly toward production.

Any offer will be contingent on the applicant’s ability to comply with U.S. export control requirements.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5+ years designing and building electromechanical systems; hiring range spans mid-level through staff depending on qualifications.

Responsibilities

Hands-on responsibility for design, integration, and testing of precision electromechanical systems.

  • Design and iterate machines, subsystems, test fixtures, inspection tools, and sensors.
  • Lead system integration efforts, verification testing, and cross-team coordination.
  • Develop electrical designs including PCB layouts, wiring, power electronics, and sensor integration.
  • Execute mechanical design of frames, components, and assemblies using CAD.
  • Rapidly prototype, build, and test new designs on aggressive timelines (days–weeks).
  • Source and select components balancing cost, reliability, and performance.
  • Write firmware and light software to support system operation.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 5+ years designing and building electromechanical systems for real-world applications.
  • Electromechanical system design and analysis.
  • Electrical instrumentation experience (oscilloscopes, meters, sensors).
  • Mechanical CAD proficiency and hands-on prototyping, fabrication, and assembly.
  • Component sourcing and selection experience.
  • Basic coding/scripting for system integration and automation.
  • Portfolio of built hardware projects required.

Nice-to-have:

  • Circuit design and PCB layout (analog and digital).
  • Experience with metrology and sensor technologies.
  • Motion system selection and control experience.
  • Optical components and system integration experience.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
