Job Title

Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design and verify custom digital hardware components and microarchitectures that enable Arago’s high-performance compute platform for AI/ML. The role works within the hardware engineering team and collaborates closely with architecture, system software, and physical design groups to deliver production-ready RTL and verification environments.

Experience Level

Senior. Specific years of experience not stated.

Responsibilities

The main responsibilities focus on RTL design, verification, and collaboration across the hardware stack to deliver integrated compute subsystems.

  • Design, implement, and verify RTL blocks for memory, control, and compute subsystems.
  • Collaborate with architecture and system software teams to define block-level specifications and ensure performance/integration goals are met.
  • Develop and maintain functional verification infrastructure for simulation and hardware testbenches.
  • Support synthesis, timing analysis, and backend integration with physical design and CAD engineers.
  • Contribute to architectural exploration and hardware–software co-design for future platform iterations.
  • Provide implementation support and debug across simulation, FPGA prototyping, and ASIC flows.

Requirements

Looking for an experienced digital hardware engineer with strong RTL and verification skills. Must-have items are listed first, followed by nice-to-have skills.

Must-have

  • Extensive RTL design experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog for control logic, datapaths, memory subsystems, and specialized processing units.
  • Strong understanding of digital architecture: pipelining, arbitration, memory hierarchy, and system-level integration.
  • Proficiency in functional verification: testbench development, assertions, coverage metrics, and debugging.
  • Familiarity with ASIC and FPGA design flows, including synthesis, timing closure, and DFT.
  • Ability to work across the full hardware stack from architectural specification to physical implementation support.
  • English proficiency at a professional level.

Nice-to-have

  • UVM experience and advanced verification methodology knowledge.
  • French language ability.
  • Experience with hardware–software co-design for AI/ML accelerators.

Education Requirements

Not specified.
