Senior Hardware Design Engineer
AragoJob Title
Senior Hardware Design Engineer
Role Summary
Design and verify custom digital hardware components and architectures that interface with Arago’s custom tensor compute unit for AI/ML workloads. Work across RTL, verification, synthesis, and backend integration while collaborating with architecture, system software, physical design, and CAD teams.
Experience Level
Senior. Years of experience: not specified.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include RTL development, verification, integration, and contributing to hardware-software co-design.
- Design, implement, and verify RTL blocks for memory, control, and compute subsystems in a custom multiphysics computation unit.
- Collaborate with system software and architecture teams to define block-level specifications and meet performance/integration targets.
- Develop and maintain functional verification infrastructure for simulation and hardware testbenches.
- Support synthesis, timing analysis, backend integration, and DFT activities with physical design and CAD engineers.
- Contribute to architectural exploration and hardware–software co-design for future platform iterations.
- Support ASIC and FPGA prototyping, bring-up, and integration activities.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; follow-on items are desirable.
Must-have
- Extensive RTL design experience in Verilog/SystemVerilog for control logic, datapaths, memory subsystems, and specialized processing units.
- Strong understanding of digital architecture: pipelining, arbitration, memory hierarchy, and system-level integration.
- Practical functional verification experience: testbench development, assertions, coverage analysis, and debugging.
- Familiarity with ASIC and FPGA design flows, including synthesis, timing closure, and DFT.
- Experience supporting synthesis, timing analysis, and backend/physical implementation activities.
- Ability to work across the full hardware stack from architectural specification and microarchitecture to physical implementation support.
- English proficiency required.
Nice-to-have
- UVM experience and deeper verification methodology expertise.
- French language skills.
