Manager, Project Management - Chip Design
Role Summary
Manage pre-silicon development and post-silicon execution for advanced switch ASICs from concept through tape-out, bring-up, qualification, and production release. Lead and coordinate cross-disciplinary teams including unit-level ASIC, physical design, CAD, package, firmware/software, DFT, system and analog teams.
Experience Level
Senior - requires 10+ years in chip design and 5+ years of chip design/verification management experience overseeing organizations of 50+ engineers.
Responsibilities
Lead technical program management and execution across all ASIC development phases.
- Lead ASIC development from concept and architecture through micro-architecture, design, verification and physical design to tape-out.
- Drive post-silicon activities: power-on, bring-up, qualification, and production release.
- Define and implement execution plans with cross-discipline leaders (unit-level, full-chip, physical design, firmware/software/emulation).
- Coordinate cross-team dependencies, identify and mitigate risks, and remove execution blockers.
- Contribute to switch ASIC roadmap and program priorities.
- Provide leadership as a second- or third-level manager for large engineering organizations (50+ engineers).
Requirements
Must-have technical experience, leadership, and communication skills.
- 10+ years experience in chip design.
- 5+ years managing chip design/verification teams as a second- or third-level manager leading 50+ engineers.
- Proficiency in RTL design (Verilog) and verification (UVM, SystemVerilog).
- Experience with SoC design/integration flows and design automation.
- Strong system-level perspective, analytical problem solving, and ability to collaborate across multiple interfaces.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and teamwork skills.
- Nice-to-have: experience in synthesis and physical design.
Education Requirements
BS or MS in Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
