Job Title

Director of System Integration

Role Summary

Lead, build, and scale the engineering organization responsible for deploying QuantWare's quantum hardware with strategic global partners. Own major system-integration programs, manage engineering teams, and act as the executive engineering interface to partners to translate commercial objectives into reliable physical systems.

Experience Level

Senior — requires significant technical leadership experience; the role specifies 10+ years of technical leadership managing multi-disciplinary hardware engineering teams.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include program ownership, team leadership, partner engagement, and process development for complex hardware integrations.

  • Recruit, manage, and mentor senior technical leads and engineers across Systems Engineering, HPC Integration, Ecosystem Management, Advanced Packaging, and RF Engineering.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of multi-year commercial quantum hardware integration projects involving partner co-design.
  • Serve as the engineering lead for customer and partner relationships; align technical work with partner requirements and executive stakeholders.
  • Identify and mitigate technical, schedule, and cost risks across third-party suppliers and integration partners to ensure compatibility with QPUs.
  • Establish and scale standardized engagement frameworks and processes for integration projects, partner training, and logistics.
  • Collaborate with Business Development to evaluate technical feasibility, resource allocation, and timeline alignment for strategic commercial proposals.

Requirements

Must-have technical leadership, delivery experience, and domain expertise for large-scale hardware integrations. Prefer candidates who can operate at both strategic and detailed technical levels.

  • Must-have: 10+ years of technical leadership with direct people management of multi-disciplinary engineering teams in complex hardware environments.
  • Must-have: Proven customer-facing delivery of complex, multi-disciplinary projects involving close technology integration, co-design, and high-capital equipment deployment.
  • Must-have: Deep domain expertise in HPC systems integration, advanced semiconductor packaging, or supercomputing infrastructure (examples: thermal budgets, high-density RF signal routing, cryogenics, compute scaling).
  • Must-have: Exceptional cross-functional communication and the ability to present technical trade-offs to executive leadership.
  • Must-have: Demonstrated ability to recruit, scale, and retain high-performing engineering teams; detail-oriented and proactive leadership style.
  • Nice-to-have: Prior experience with quantum hardware deployment and partner co-design for QPUs.

Education Requirements

Master's or PhD in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, Microelectronics, Computer Engineering, or a closely related technical field.
