Job Title

Digital Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on verification of next-generation optical ASICs, ensuring functional integrity, performance, and reliability of digital logic and processor subsystems. You will collaborate with architects, designers, and customers across Arago's engineering hubs in Paris and Tel Aviv.

Experience Level

Mid-level. No explicit years of experience specified in the posting.

Responsibilities

Deliver verification for digital and mixed-signal optical chip projects from block to full-chip level and support post-silicon activities.

  • Develop verification plans for complex digital and mixed-signal optical chip designs.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and customers to translate requirements into verification strategies and provide actionable feedback.
  • Perform netlist-level simulations with SDF back-annotation for timing-accurate verification.
  • Support FPGA/ASIC bring-up and post-silicon validation as needed.
  • Develop and maintain testbenches and verification components using advanced SystemVerilog features (constrained random, assertions, TLM) for coverage-driven environments.
  • Design scalable, reusable UVM-based environments and components (agents, monitors, scoreboards) for block- and system-level verification and regression automation.
  • Execute protocol validation, compliance testing, error injection, and debug for PCIe endpoints and root complexes.
  • Participate in verification of RISC-V CPU cores and subsystems, including targeted processor tests, reference comparisons, and formal/compliance checks.
  • Plan and perform end-to-end ASIC verification: functional/regression tests, formal verification, coverage analysis, debug, and design reviews.

Requirements

Core technical skills and experience required. Education details are summarized in the Education Requirements section below.

  • Fluency and hands-on expertise in SystemVerilog for verification.
  • Practical experience with the UVM framework and modern verification environments.
  • Experience verifying digital logic for high-speed interfaces and standard protocols (AXI/AXI-Stream, APB/AHB, I2C, JTAG, PCIe).
  • Experience verifying RISC-V CPU designs or equivalent processor architectures within an ASIC context.
  • Experience in netlist-level simulation, timing back-annotation, and post-silicon validation workflows.
  • Experience building coverage-driven testbenches, constrained-random tests, assertions, and TLM components.
  • Protocol checking, compliance validation, error injection, and debug skills for PCIe and other interfaces.
  • Familiarity with formal verification tools and compliance suites for thorough validation.
  • Strong analytical skills, clear communication for customer-driven projects, and ability to work in cross-functional teams.
  • English proficiency required; French is a plus.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
