Job Title

ASIC Design Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Join Celero Communications' ASIC verification team in Ottawa to verify complex ASICs used in optical transceivers for next-generation optical modems. The role focuses on developing verification plans, building SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, executing directed and automated tests, and collaborating with design and systems teams to ensure functional, performance, and power requirements are met.

Experience Level

Mid-level β€” requires at least 3 years of ASIC verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification activities and supporting system integration.

  • Develop and implement verification plans for complex ASIC designs.
  • Design, build, and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and reusable verification components.
  • Create and execute test cases to verify functionality, performance, and power targets.
  • Perform code and functional coverage analysis to ensure thorough verification.
  • Debug issues and work closely with design and system teams to resolve defects.
  • Support system integration and validation activities.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • 3+ years of ASIC verification experience.
  • Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, and UVM.
  • Strong understanding of ASIC verification flows and methodologies.
  • Experience with formal verification techniques.
  • Familiarity with MATLAB and C/C++ for simulation and evaluation.
  • Knowledge of low-power design techniques.
  • Strong problem-solving ability, communication, and teamwork skills.

Nice-to-have / preferred skills.

  • Experience with scripting languages (Python, Tcl, Perl).
  • Knowledge of DSP, digital communications, and FEC techniques.
  • Ability to multitask and adapt to a fast-paced startup environment.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or higher degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
