Job Title

Analog Mixed-Signal Circuit Design Engineer

Role Summary

Design analog and mixed-signal blocks for integrated voltage regulators and power-delivery ICs. Work on schematic- and layout-level design, verification, and integration of blocks for high-power SoCs and ultra-low-power platforms.

Collaborate with system, test, characterization, and application teams to define specifications, verify silicon, and iterate designs.

Experience Level

Entry-level / early career. Role expects about 2+ years of hands-on full-custom CMOS design experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include block-level design, verification, and cross-functional integration.

  • Design analog and mixed-signal circuits to meet architectural and technical specifications across CMOS nodes.
  • Contribute to architectural definition, chip integration, and specification development with business and application teams.
  • Research and propose new circuit techniques to improve IC performance.
  • Perform schematic- and post-layout verification simulations, including Monte Carlo and parametric analyses.
  • Prepare documentation, run design reviews, and participate in cross-functional review meetings.
  • Work with Characterization, Test, and Application teams to verify, characterize, and debug owned circuit blocks on silicon.

Requirements

Core technical skills and tool proficiency required for the role.

Must-have

  • Hands-on full-custom CMOS design experience (analog/mixed-signal building blocks).
  • Design experience with bandgaps, ADCs/DACs, PLLs/DLLs, LDOs, temperature sensors, switched-capacitor circuits, op-amps, comparators, and bias circuits.
  • Proficiency in Cadence Virtuoso schematic and layout, Spectre, APS, and Calibre DRC/LVS/PEX.
  • Ability to layout critical analog and mixed-signal circuits and perform post-layout verification.
  • Experience with mixed-signal verification methodologies and Monte Carlo analysis.
  • Strong understanding of device/process physics and low-power analog design techniques.
  • Experience with backend verification tools (EMIR, static/dynamic MOSFET voltage checks).
  • Experience with high switching-frequency integrated voltage regulators in standard CMOS technologies.

Nice-to-have

  • Experience with CppSim or similar circuit-level simulation environments.
  • Proficiency in scripting and modeling: Verilog, Verilog-AMS, Python, Perl, Tcl, Cadence Skill, MATLAB.

Education Requirements

PhD or MSEE required in a relevant technical field; the posting specifies 2+ years of full-custom CMOS design experience in addition to the degree.
