2027 Intern - Product/Test Development Engineer

Role Summary

Intern on the Product and Test Engineering team working on Automotive Microcontroller products. The role supports development and debugging of test software and hardware for silicon evaluation, characterization, qualification, and mass-production test (ATE).

The intern will collaborate with cross-functional teams worldwide to identify root causes of product issues and implement solutions.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current undergraduate or graduate students; no prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include test development, validation, and problem resolution:

• Develop and debug test software and test hardware to support silicon evaluation and qualification on ATE.
• Execute and validate test plans; collect and analyze test data.
• Investigate product and production issues; identify root cause and propose corrective actions.
• Collaborate with worldwide cross-functional teams (design, characterization, test, production) to implement solutions.
• Document test procedures, results, and issue resolutions.

Requirements

Key skills and attributes expected from candidates:

• Familiarity with microcontrollers or microprocessors.
• Proficient coding skills in C, C++, VB, Python or similar languages.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ownership of tasks.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
• Self-motivated, willing to learn, and open to challenges.
• Good oral and written English; CET6 or equivalent preferred.

Education Requirements

Pursuing a BS or MS in IC Design, Micro-Electronics, Electronics, Computer Science or a related technical major. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.
