ZeBu Application Engineer
Role Summary
Senior applications engineer responsible for deploying and supporting Synopsys ZeBu emulation solutions for customers in China. Work includes onsite deployment, methodology definition, technical collateral, product testing, and specification writing.
Role requires regular interaction with customers, sales, marketing, and R&D to diagnose and resolve verification and software validation issues on ASIC/SoC projects.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of experience in IC design, verification, emulation, or FPGA prototyping (posting indicates more than 5 years).
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include deploying emulation systems and supporting customer verification flows.
- Install, configure, and deploy ZeBu/emulation solutions onsite for customer projects.
- Create technical collateral, runbooks, and demos; define and document new methodologies.
- Provide product support, testing, and write specifications for product enhancements.
- Work with customers, sales, marketing, and R&D to troubleshoot and resolve complex design verification and software validation issues for ASIC/SoC designs.
- Assist with performance tuning, debug flows, and integration of emulation into customer verification environments.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and domain experience.
- Practical project experience in ASIC/SoC emulation or FPGA-based design and verification.
- Expertise with emulators or FPGA compile/runtime/debug; familiarity with products such as Palladium, Veloce, or ZeBu.
- Proficient in HDL (Verilog, VHDL), HVL (e/vera/SystemVerilog), and C/C++.
- Familiarity with Unix environments and strong understanding of ASIC design flows, VLSI, or CAD-engineering.
- Good knowledge of high-level design methodologies and strong verbal/written communication skills for customer engagements.
- Ability to collaborate with R&D teams and support customer deployments onsite.
- Nice-to-have: experience with VMM/OVM/UVM and simulator–emulator co-emulation.
Education Requirements
MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering (EE) required by the posting.
