Job Title

Yield Debug NPI and Platform Solution Engineer

Role Summary

Design and deliver platform hardware solutions to support lab debug, NPI (new product introduction) and platform validation activities within the Foundry APAC Lab team. The role focuses on PCB and component-level design, board layout oversight, and ensuring hardware/software interoperability for silicon bring-up and debug.

Work directly in the lab on power-on, bring-up and debug of microprocessor-based platforms and collaborate with cross-functional partners to identify and resolve board-level issues.

Experience Level

Entry-level (College Grad / New graduate). Suitable for candidates with 0–3 years of relevant experience; internships, academic projects or practical training are considered valuable.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on hardware development, board validation, and lab debug support.

  • Design, develop and evaluate electronic components and PCBs for platform hardware solutions.
  • Create schematics and oversee PCB layout processes and layout reviews.
  • Validate hardware compatibility with firmware and host software; support integration testing.
  • Perform microprocessor power-on, bring-up and lab debug activities.
  • Triage board-level defects and perform root-cause analysis to support yield and reliability improvement.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (design, validation, manufacturing) to deliver NPI milestones.
  • Maintain lab hardware, test setups and documentation for repeatable debug workflows.

Requirements

Technical must-have skills and additional desirable skills are listed below. Education requirements are summarized separately.

Must-have:

  • Hands-on experience in hardware design or development (lab work, academic projects, internships, or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proficiency with board layout design and schematic-capture tools.
  • Foundational knowledge of component-level design principles and hardware platform fundamentals.
  • Basic programming skills in Python, C++ or hardware description languages (HDL).
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and debugging skills.

Nice-to-have:

  • Exposure to power analysis and platform architecture for validation.
  • Experience triaging board-level defects and applying root-cause analysis.
  • Prior cross-functional collaboration experience delivering hardware products.
  • Familiarity with microprocessor bring-up and lab debug workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Mechatronics Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience (internships, projects, coursework, or hands-on training).
