WRD (RTL) Design - Senior Lead
QualcommJob Title
WRD (RTL) Design - Senior Lead
Role Summary
Join the BDC WRD (Wi‑Fi) team responsible for Qualcomm Wi‑Fi chip development. This role leads design and implementation of an IP block in the Wi‑Fi PHY across the full lifecycle: requirements, micro‑architecture, RTL/HLS implementation, QA and release.
Experience Level
Senior — typically 5+ years of hardware/RTL design experience; qualifications in the posting reference ranges from ~3 to 7+ years depending on degree.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities focus on RTL and micro‑architecture delivery, verification support, and preparing designs for downstream implementation.
- Define IP micro‑architecture and implement RTL modules (Verilog/SystemVerilog).
- Develop, review and maintain RTL for linting, CDC, and other RTL QA flows.
- Collaborate with system teams during requirements and with verification on test plans and debug.
- Implement signal‑processing modules in RTL and/or HLS as required by the PHY design.
- Create timing constraints and support synthesis/implementation and static timing analysis when needed.
- Debug RTL issues and support integration and release activities.
Requirements
Essential technical skills and experience required for successful performance in this role.
- Proficient in Verilog and SystemVerilog for RTL design and coding.
- Practical experience in RTL design, micro‑architecture and RTL QA flows (lint, CDC; PLDRC/CLP experience desirable).
- Experience developing test plans and debugging with verification teams.
- Familiarity with scripting for flows and automation (Perl, Tcl, or similar).
- Knowledge of signal processing concepts and Wi‑Fi PHY algorithms (802.11 family) is desirable.
- HLS experience, implementation or STA flow experience are advantages but not strictly required.
- Strong debugging, problem solving and cross‑team communication skills.
Education Requirements
Degrees cited: Bachelor's (BTech/BE), Master's (MTech/MS) or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering or related technical fields. The posting lists degree‑based experience combinations (e.g., Bachelor's with multiple years of related hardware engineering experience, or equivalent practical experience) as acceptable alternatives.
