WPM C4 Quality and Reliability Engineer

Role Summary

The Quality and Reliability Engineer (QRE) will support Wafer Packaging Manufacturing (WPM) C4 (bumping) process segments as part of Foundry Quality, Reliability, and Labs (FQRL). The role manages customer quality issues, leads investigations and excursions, analyzes data for risk assessment, and drives quality and reliability improvements across cross-functional teams.

This is an on-site role based in Hillsboro, Oregon, that requires evening meetings most work days and participation in a 24x7 on-call engineering rotation.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Minimum qualifications specify a Master's degree in Engineering, Science, or related discipline plus 3 years of relevant experience.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include:

  • Manage internal and external customer quality issues and coordinate corrective actions.
  • Extract, analyze, and interpret data to assess risk of suspect or non-conforming material.
  • Lead and coordinate downstream investigations, excursions, and cross-functional responses.
  • Develop and track metrics and goals for end-of-line hold operations and MRB inventory.
  • Identify and drive projects to improve detection, containment, and reliability of product.
  • Lead certification and ramp activities for new technologies from on-site and off-site development teams.
  • Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation and support urgent line issues and task-force projects.

Requirements

Must-have:

  • Semiconductor foundry quality and reliability engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes, semiconductor fabrication, and quality assessment methodologies.
  • Familiarity with excursion management, reliability fundamentals, and structured problem-solving techniques.
  • Proficiency with statistical analysis techniques and tools (examples: JMP, Minitab).
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and project planning skills; ability to influence cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment; availability for evening meetings and on-call shifts.

Nice-to-have:

  • Ability to write automation scripts for data extraction and analysis.
  • Experience managing change control processes and continuous improvement programs.
  • Familiarity with product/process reliability methods and quality control systems.

Education Requirements
