Working Student - Foundry Analytics & Software Development

Role Summary

Part-time student role within KLA's Measurement, Analytics and Control (MACH) group in Dresden. The position supports development and validation of foundry-focused software features (OVALiS) and analytics to improve semiconductor manufacturing performance.

The role collaborates with software engineers, product managers, and domain experts to implement data-analytics workflows, apply machine-learning and statistical methods, and evaluate proof-of-concept solutions for future products.

Experience Level

Entry-level student position (part-time). Open to currently enrolled STEM students; no specific professional years of experience required.

Responsibilities

Work on software and analytics tasks that support foundry process analysis and product development.

  • Support development and validation of foundry-oriented software features within OVALiS.
  • Develop data-analytics concepts such as multi-product analysis, grouping, and process performance evaluation.
  • Contribute machine-learning and statistical methods for process optimization and prediction.
  • Implement, test, and document software functionality.
  • Analyze large datasets and extract actionable insights to improve manufacturing performance.
  • Collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and semiconductor domain experts.
  • Participate in proof-of-concept development and evaluation of new product ideas.

Requirements

Core technical skills and team-working abilities expected for the role.

  • Strong analytical and quantitative thinking skills.
  • Interest in software development, data analytics, machine learning, or scientific computing.
  • Experience with programming languages such as Python, R, C#, Java, or similar.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in an international team.
  • Fluency in English.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience applying statistical methods or machine-learning models to large datasets.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing concepts or process control analytics.
  • Experience with scientific computing or data-processing pipelines.

Education Requirements

Currently enrolled student in a STEM discipline such as Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Data Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field (enrollment in an academic program is required).
