Job Title

New Graduate Engineer, Silicon Engineering

Role Summary

Join the silicon engineering team supporting the Starlink program to develop next-generation ASICs, SoCs and FPGAs. Work spans pre-silicon through post-silicon across RTL, verification, RF/analog IC, physical design, DFT and validation.

The role is hands-on and execution-focused: design, verify, bring-up and validate complex silicon and FPGA systems in the lab.

Experience Level

Entry-level — new graduates (classes of 2026 or 2027).

Responsibilities

Work across multiple silicon engineering disciplines; responsibilities vary by assignment.

  • Participate in all phases of ASIC/FPGA design and verification flows.
  • Contribute to design architecture, RTL implementation, verification and emulation.
  • Bring up and validate ASICs and FPGAs in the lab; develop embedded test/validation code in C/C++ or Python.
  • Simulate and model RF/analog IC systems, derive subsystem specifications, and support IC floor planning and layout.
  • Develop RTL for DSP and communications blocks and verify against models.
  • Perform synthesis and physical implementation tasks: floorplanning, place & route, timing and noise analysis, and signoff checks.
  • Develop automation scripts and physical-design methodologies to improve implementation flows.
  • Support silicon tapeouts in advanced technology nodes and post-silicon validation.

Requirements

Clear must-haves and relevant technical skills.

  • Practical experience with ASIC, SoC, FPGA, RFIC or MMIC hardware or equivalent project experience.
  • Proficiency in RTL and verification languages and tools: SystemVerilog, Verilog, or VHDL; familiarity with C/C++ for embedded tasks.
  • Scripting experience (Python) for automation and test development.
  • Hands-on RTL design, verification, chip bring-up, or post-silicon validation experience.
  • Ability to work extended hours and weekends as required to meet project milestones.
  • ITAR eligibility: must be a U.S. citizen, U.S. national, U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder), refugee, asylee, or otherwise able to obtain required U.S. Department of State authorizations.

Nice-to-have:

  • Analog or digital CMOS IC design or physical-design experience.
  • Experience with simulation tools (e.g., ADS, Spectre, HFSS, Momentum) and MATLAB for DSP verification.
  • Familiarity with object-oriented programming and automation for physical design flows.

Education Requirements

Graduating with a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in 2026 or 2027. Degrees in engineering disciplines, mathematics, or physics are specified (e.g., EE, CE, ECE, CS, physics, applied math).
