WLAN Python Test Automation Engineer
Role Summary
Join the BU Wi-Fi — Wi-Fi Connectivity Group in Hyderabad to design and maintain scalable test automation frameworks and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines. The role focuses on automating Wi‑Fi protocol tests, improving test coverage and reliability, and enabling faster release cycles.

Responsibilities
Work with engineering teams to convert test requirements into automated suites, run them in CI/CD, and maintain the test infrastructure.
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable Python-based test automation frameworks for Wi‑Fi protocol testing.
- Write and optimize automation scripts in Python, Shell, and C.
- Implement automated regression, feature validation, performance, and system-level tests.
- Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and ensure reliable execution across environments.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI or similar) and automate build/deploy/test workflows.
- Provision and manage test environments using Docker, containers, and virtualization tools.
- Debug automation failures, improve reliability and test coverage, and document test suites.
- Collaborate with development teams to speed up release cycles and ensure smooth delivery.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience for immediate effectiveness in the role.
- 5+ years of experience in test automation, DevOps, or combined QA/Automation/DevOps roles.
- Proven programming skills in Python and C; experience building automation frameworks from scratch.
- Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and concepts (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI).
- Practical experience with Linux, embedded platforms, and networking fundamentals.
- Knowledge of Wi‑Fi standards (802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax/be).
- Familiarity with Git, code review practices, Docker, and containerized environments.
- Strong problem-solving skills and effective English communication.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with system-level performance testing and environment orchestration.
- Prior exposure to virtualization tools beyond containers.
