Wireless R&D IP Verification Staff/Sr Staff Engineer
Role Summary
Work on end-to-end verification of wireless IP (WAN, WLAN, GNSS, Bluetooth) within Qualcomm's hardware engineering organization. The role focuses on verification planning, building/maintaining SystemVerilog/UVM environments, simulation and formal methods, and cross-functional debugging to deliver silicon-quality IP.
Experience Level
Senior-level. Target experience: 8–15 years of verification or related hardware engineering experience.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing IP-level verification and maintaining scalable verification infrastructure.
- Define verification strategy, write verification plans, and drive coverage goals.
- Develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and test cases.
- Write assertions and run simulations to achieve coverage closure.
- Apply advanced DV methodologies (formal, simulation) to improve efficiency and quality.
- Debug RTL and testbench issues using industry-standard tools and collaborate with design and architecture teams.
- Maintain and enhance verification environments for reuse and scalability.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience. Nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: Strong expertise in SystemVerilog and UVM; proven experience building medium-to-complex SV/UVM environments.
- Must-have: Experience with coverage-driven verification and writing efficient constraint-random tests.
- Must-have: Strong RTL and testbench debugging skills (tools such as Verdi or equivalent).
- Must-have: Scripting for automation (Python or Perl).
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to wireless IPs (Wi‑Fi, modem PHY, DSP blocks).
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with formal/static verification techniques.
- Nice-to-have: Power-aware verification and Gate-Level Simulation (GLS) experience.
Education Requirements
Degree required: Bachelor's, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.
