Wireless R&D IP Verification Engineer (Engineer to Sr Lead)
QualcommJob Title
Wireless R&D IP Verification Engineer (Engineer to Sr Lead)
Role Summary
Develop and own IP-level verification for Qualcomm wireless IP blocks (WAN, WLAN, GNSS, Bluetooth). Work on design analysis, verification planning, testbench and test development, simulation and coverage closure, and debug of RTL/testbench issues.
Collaborate with design, architecture, and cross-functional teams to maintain scalable, reusable verification environments and drive delivery of high-quality IP.
Experience Level
Senior (role listing spans Engineer β Sr Engineer β Sr Lead). The posting indicates 1β6 years of relevant hardware/verification experience depending on degree level.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include ownership of verification activities and improving verification methodology and efficiency.
- Plan and execute IP-level verification: analysis, verification plans, and coverage goals.
- Develop SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches and write test cases and assertions.
- Create constraint-random tests and drive coverage closure through simulation.
- Debug RTL and testbench issues using industry tools and workflows.
- Explore and apply advanced DV methodologies (formal, static, simulation) to improve quality and efficiency.
- Maintain and scale verification environments for reuse across projects.
- Collaborate with design, architecture, and cross-functional teams to meet milestones.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience for this role.
- Must-have: Strong SystemVerilog and UVM experience; proven ability to build and maintain medium-to-complex SV/UVM environments.
- Must-have: Experience with coverage-driven verification and writing efficient constraint-random tests.
- Must-have: Strong debug skills using tools such as Verdi or equivalents.
- Must-have: Scripting for automation (Python or Perl).
- Nice-to-have: Exposure to wireless IPs (WiβFi, modem PHY, DSP blocks).
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with formal/static verification techniques.
- Nice-to-have: Power-aware verification and gate-level simulation (GLS) experience.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, or a related engineering field. The posting allows degree alternatives with equivalent experience: typical minimums listed are Bachelor's +3 years, Master's +2 years, or PhD +1 year of relevant hardware/verification experience.
