Job Title

Wireless Module Engineer

Role Summary

The Wireless Module Engineer (WME) leads technical development of wireless modules from early architecture through mass-production ramp, working across RF design, ATE, reliability, manufacturing, and supply chain.

This role manages OSAT relationships, defines module/ATE test coverage, drives design releases and production readiness, and leads failure analysis and yield-improvement activities.

Experience Level

Senior-level. The posting specifies a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include technical leadership, cross-functional coordination, and ensuring modules meet testing, manufacturing, and reliability requirements.

  • Serve as primary technical liaison between internal teams (RF HW Design, Test, System EE, Reliability, Quality, DFM, Supply) and OSAT technical teams.
  • Define and drive RF module architecture, specifications, and formal design-release checkpoints (schematics, PCB layout, RF/EM simulation, DFM).
  • Lead ATE HW/SW readiness at OSATs: load boards, sockets, handlers, firmware/software integration, calibrations, and test algorithms.
  • Define and validate test coverage and limits (Open/Short, VCO calibration, TX/RX calibration, RF packet/EVM tests, RX sensitivity, GRR/CPK analysis).
  • Manage OSAT schedules, prioritize risk mitigations, and ensure timely delivery of tested modules for NPI builds.
  • Lead failure analysis with OSATs and implement corrective actions to improve yield and reduce retest rates.
  • Travel internationally to OSAT sites for module and ATE bring-up (typically 1–2 weeks) and perform hands-on debugging of interfaces and system issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, collaboration abilities, and practical experience relevant to module development and manufacturing.

  • Strong RF fundamentals and practical RF system troubleshooting skills.
  • Proven written and verbal communication skills and demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional projects and vendor teams.
  • Experience with manufacturing test strategy, ATE integration, and test-data analysis (e.g., GRR, Cpk) required for product sign-off.
  • Ability to work at both high-level architecture and detailed hands-on execution during bring-up and debugging.
  • Experience reviewing mechanical and electrical designs for sockets, fixtures, and test systems.
  • Ability to travel internationally for multi-week on-site activities with OSATs.
  • Nice-to-have: packaging, product engineering, reliability engineering, AI/ML data-analysis experience, and prior wireless module development from concept to mass production.

Education Requirements

BS degree (Bachelor of Science) and a minimum of 10 years of relevant industry experience as stated in the posting.
