WIFI PHY Senior Design Verification Engineer
QualcommJob Title
WIFI PHY Senior Design Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Senior design verification engineer for Wi‑Fi and/or Modem PHY working on ASIC designs and advanced technology nodes. The role covers full VLSI verification cycle: verification planning, testbench and test development, assertion and coverage closure, and verification closure.
You will collaborate with worldwide design and architecture teams to deliver IP/block-level verification for wireless products.
Experience Level
Senior. Typical candidates have approximately 2–4 years of design verification experience, with demonstrated ownership of IP/block verification and complex SV/UVM environments.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include planning and executing verification for wireless PHY blocks and ensuring verification closure.
- Understand PHY TX and RX datapaths and relevant wireless algorithms.
- Own IP/block/system‑subsystem level design verification end‑to‑end.
- Develop verification plans and implement SV/UVM testbenches and tests.
- Write assertions, create constraint‑random tests, run simulations, and achieve coverage goals.
- Debug RTL and testbench issues to closure using tools such as Verdi or equivalents.
- Explore and apply formal, simulation, and emulation methodologies to improve coverage and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (design, architecture, stakeholders) to meet project goals.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred technical skills and experience.
- Must-have: 2–4 years of design verification experience, strong SystemVerilog and UVM skills.
- Must-have: Experience with assertion‑ and coverage‑based verification and building/maintaining medium to complex SV/UVM environments.
- Must-have: Experience writing efficient constraint‑random tests and strong RTL/testbench debugging skills (Verdi or similar).
- Must-have: Strong analytical, debugging, and independent problem‑solving abilities; good communication skills for global collaboration.
- Nice-to-have: Prior experience verifying WiFi or Modem PHY layers.
- Nice-to-have: Experience with formal/static verification methodologies and power‑aware verification (GLS).
- Nice-to-have: Scripting experience (Perl, Python) and IP verification of DSP‑related hardware blocks.
- Nice-to-have: Familiarity with wireless protocols and WiFi/Modem standards.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications specify one of: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Engineering, or a related field with 2+ years of hardware engineering or related work experience; or Master's degree in those fields with 1+ year of hardware engineering or related work experience; or a PhD in those fields.
