Job Title

Wi-Fi System-Test Engineer

Role Summary

Entry-level role on the System Test team responsible for defining, developing and executing system-level tests for next-generation Wi-Fi products. The team focuses on automated and manual validation of connectivity, interoperability and system behavior across hardware and firmware.

The engineer will work with cross-functional teams to create test plans, build test setups, implement test automation and analyze results to ensure product quality.

Experience Level

Entry-level. Targeted at new college graduates or engineers with comparable early-career experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include system-level test definition, implementation and execution, plus collaboration with development teams to reproduce and resolve issues.

  • Define and develop system-level test plans and procedures for Wi-Fi products.
  • Implement and maintain test automation and scripts, primarily using Python and C.
  • Build and operate test setups and test equipment; develop drivers or interfaces as needed.
  • Execute test campaigns, collect and analyze logs, and report results and defects.
  • Collaborate with firmware, hardware and validation teams to reproduce and troubleshoot system issues.
  • Document test designs, test results and maintain regression suites.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and professional attributes required for the role.

  • Software development skills with proficiency in Python and C and knowledge of object-oriented programming.
  • Understanding of networking protocols and communication systems at the system level.
  • Knowledge of digital logic, computer architecture and operating system concepts.
  • Strong collaboration, communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Self-directed learner with initiative and proactive problem-solving approach.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with Wi-Fi, BLE or other wireless technologies.
  • Familiarity with link-layer protocols, TCP/IP and L2 networking.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
  • Experience with Groovy, Wireshark or similar protocol-analysis tools.
  • Experience developing software for embedded or memory-constrained systems.
  • Experience with test equipment, building test setups and developing test automations.
  • Familiarity with Confluence/ConfiForms or similar documentation systems.

Education Requirements

Requires a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Communications Engineering, Computer Science or a closely related field. Posting specifies a grades average greater than 84 and targets new college graduates. Degree Level: Bachelor's Degree.
