Wet Etch Process Engineer
Micron TechnologyJob Title
Wet Etch Process Engineer
Role Summary
Responsible for starting up, developing, and optimizing wet etch processes for DRAM semiconductor manufacturing to improve yield, reduce cost, increase productivity, and mitigate production risk. Work is hands-on and cross-functional, collaborating with equipment, integration, and production teams to resolve manufacturing issues and implement process improvements.
Experience Level
Mid-level - typically requires 2+ years of relevant industry experience as a Process Owner within wet etch processes.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include process development, yield and defect reduction, and cross-functional execution.
- Start up, develop, and optimize wet etch processes (bath and spin processes, vapor etch, dry strip, dry bevel etch, plating).
- Drive process yield improvements, cost reduction, productivity gains, and risk management.
- Troubleshoot and resolve manufacturing line problems affecting production quality and throughput.
- Collaborate with equipment and integrations engineers to identify and resolve production issues.
- Manage projects to meet milestones that close yield, defectivity, production, and cost gaps.
- Own and improve statistical process control (SPC) charts for assigned processes.
Requirements
Key technical and professional requirements. Education details are summarized separately under Education Requirements.
- 2+ years industry experience working as a Process Owner within wet etch processes (preferred).
- Demonstrated knowledge of wet etch process area and DRAM development/manufacturing experience.
- Hands-on familiarity with wet etch process types listed above and practical process troubleshooting skills.
- Project management skills to drive cross-functional projects to completion.
- Ownership of SPC and data-driven process control activities.
- Willingness to learn and apply Agentic AI tools to improve workflow efficiency.
- Preferred: strong analytical and problem-solving skills, clear communication and teamwork, proficiency in data science and programming, and broad semiconductor fabrication/equipment knowledge.
