MTS Applications / Validation Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical support and validation for Rambus DDR4 and DDR5 memory interface chips used in servers, primarily supporting customers in South Korea and broader Asia. Analyze, debug, and drive resolution of complex DRAM, DIMM, memory-interface, server and BIOS interactions.
Work with engineering and marketing teams to qualify new chip designs, perform system-level signal integrity and failure analysis, and present findings to customers and management.

Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include technical debug, qualification, and communication with customers and internal teams.
- Analyze and debug complex technical issues involving server memory and manage customer issues to resolution.
- Support technical qualification of new chip designs to secure customer design wins.
- Assist with validation and debug of new memory interface chips for DDR5 servers.
- Collect and analyze system-level signal integrity data.
- Conduct failure analysis and prepare failure-analysis reports and 8D reports.
- Gather customer technical feedback and communicate it to Marketing and Engineering.
- Present technical updates to customers and company management in writing and verbally.
- Prepare technical documentation such as datasheets, user guides and application notes.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and abilities; followed by notable desirable skills.
- Familiarity with DDR4/DDR5 DIMM operation in Intel, AMD, and/or OEM server platforms.
- Strong understanding of signal integrity at clock rates of 3 GHz and above.
- Experience with power management and I2C/I3C serial interfaces.
- Extensive hands-on experience with probing and high-speed oscilloscopes and other lab equipment.
- Proven use of root-cause analysis techniques (fishbone, design of experiments, etc.).
- Ability to use scripting languages (Perl, Tcl, Python) to analyze logs and automate tests.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer sites, including internationally.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English and Korean.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with ATE tester operation.
- Experience reading/modifying MRC BIOS code and using Intel/AMD server platform debug tools.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BS) or higher in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
