Web Software Engineer (Part-time)

Role Summary

Develop and maintain web front-end features for Renesas' Go Configure™ Software Hub and associated tools. This is a part-time role (10 hours/week) on a fixed-term 6-month contract with possible extension; the team uses flexible hours and collaborates across disciplines.

Experience Level

Entry-level — 2+ years of professional experience building web applications with TypeScript/JavaScript and React.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include:

• Design and implement frontend features and modules.
• Write well-designed, efficient, and testable code.
• Author unit tests and maintain code/product documentation.
• Participate in architecture discussions and peer code reviews.
• Follow project workflows and coding conventions; take ownership of projects when required.
• Communicate effectively and collaborate with team members.

Requirements

Must-have skills and experience:

• 2+ years professional experience with TypeScript/JavaScript (ES6+) and React.
• Strong knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and browser behavior.
• Experience with state management libraries (Redux, MobX, Zustand, or similar).
• Proven ability to design reusable React components and modular frontend architectures.
• Experience writing unit tests using Jest, Vitest, or React Testing Library.
• Experience with Git and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with modern frontend build tools (Vite or Webpack) and monorepo architectures (Nx, Turborepo, or similar).
• Strong debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate English (B1) or higher.

Nice-to-have:

• Experience with utility libraries or styling frameworks such as Lodash and Tailwind CSS.
