VLSI & Microelectronics Internship
Role Summary
This internship places you on an engineering team supporting VLSI application work and EDA tool usage for advanced-node SoC and 3DIC design (5/3/2 nm). You will work with internal development teams and semiconductor customers to support verification, testing, and performance optimization of electronic systems.
Program is full-time, 11 months, onsite at Synopsys locations in India (Bangalore, Noida, Hyderabad). Expected start window: May–July 2026.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Suitable for current M.Tech students or recent M.Tech graduates beginning a career in semiconductors.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on support of VLSI verification and application engineering tasks.
- Collaborate with VLSI application engineers using Synopsys EDA tools for SoC and 3DIC design at advanced process nodes.
- Work with customers and internal teams from ideation through deployment.
- Assist in verification, testing, debugging, and performance analysis of silicon and circuit designs.
- Contribute to development and optimization of high-performance electronic subsystems.
- Document results, present findings, and participate in team meetings.

- Strong foundation in electronics, microelectronics, and VLSI concepts.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills with demonstrated programming ability.
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Available full-time for the program duration and able to work onsite at an Indian office.
- Motivation to learn and engage with semiconductor design challenges.
Nice-to-have:
- Exposure to semiconductor design flows, EDA tools, or practical verification/testing experience.
Education Requirements
Currently pursuing an M.Tech in VLSI, Electronics, Microelectronics, or a closely related field is preferred. Recent M.Tech graduates (including those from services companies transitioning to semiconductor roles) will be considered. No other degree or certification requirements are specified in the posting.
