VLSI & Microelectronics Internship
Role Summary
11-month, full-time on-site internship based in India. The intern will work with VLSI application engineers and software teams to apply EDA tools toward design, verification, and sign-off of advanced-node SoCs and 3DICs.
Work involves hands-on verification, testing, debugging, and optimization of electronic systems while collaborating with semiconductor customers and internal teams.
Experience Level
Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current postgraduate students or recent graduates seeking practical experience in VLSI and microelectronics.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate with VLSI application engineers on EDA tool flows for SoC and 3DIC development at advanced nodes (5/3/2 nm).
- Work with semiconductor customers and internal software development teams from ideation through deployment.
- Assist in verification, testing, and debugging of silicon chips and circuits.
- Contribute to design optimization and performance analysis of high-performance electronic systems.
- Document results, present findings to the team, and participate in technical reviews and meetings.
- Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve technical issues and propose improvements.
Requirements
Must-have skills and attributes:
- Strong foundational knowledge in electronics, microelectronics, and VLSI concepts.
- Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving ability and practical programming skills (scripting or higher-level languages).
- Good verbal and written communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
- Availability to work full-time on-site for the program duration and to start between May and July 2026.
Nice-to-have:
- Familiarity with EDA tools and flows for SoC/3DIC design, verification, and sign-off.
- Experience with silicon verification, testing, and debugging workflows and knowledge of advanced process nodes.
Education Requirements
Preference for candidates currently pursuing or recently completed an M.Tech in VLSI, Electronics, Microelectronics, or a closely related field. Recent M.Tech graduates working in services who want to move into the semiconductor domain will be considered.
