VLSI & Microelectronics Intern

Role Summary

Internship within the VLSI application engineering team focused on applying Synopsys EDA tools to design, verify, and sign off advanced-node SoCs and 3DICs. The role involves hands-on engineering work with customers and internal development teams across the product lifecycle.

Full-time, onsite internship in India with project work from ideation through deployment; the position emphasizes technical learning and practical problem solving.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Suitable for current postgraduate students or recent M.Tech graduates; no specific years of prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Core responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with VLSI application engineers to use and validate Synopsys EDA tools for SoC and 3DIC development at advanced nodes (5/3/2 nm).
• Work with semiconductor customers and internal software teams across the development lifecycle, from ideation to deployment.
• Assist in verification, testing, and debugging of silicon chips and circuits.
• Contribute to development and optimization of high-performance electronic systems.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and propose practical, implementable solutions.
• Document results, present findings, and participate in team meetings to share progress.

Requirements

Minimum and preferred skills:

• Strong foundation in electronics, microelectronics, and VLSI concepts.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to apply theory to practical tasks.
• Programming and scripting skills appropriate for test, verification, or automation tasks (exact languages/tools not specified).
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Enthusiasm for semiconductor technology, eagerness to learn, and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

Education Requirements

Currently pursuing or recently completed M.Tech (preferred) in VLSI, Electronics, Microelectronics, or related fields. Consideration given to recent M.Tech graduates transitioning from services companies. Equivalent technical education or relevant practical experience is acceptable.
