Job Title

VLSI Design Verification Manager - Slingshot ASIC Team

Role Summary

Lead a team responsible for pre-silicon design verification of HPE Slingshot networking ASICs used in high-performance NICs and switches. The role combines technical ownership of verification methodology and execution with people management and program delivery.

Experience Level

Senior — typically requires 10+ years of VLSI design verification experience and prior hands-on DV leadership.

Responsibilities

Own verification strategy, execution, and readiness for complex networking ASIC projects while managing and developing a team of engineers.

  • Define and evolve verification methodology across block, subsystem, and full-chip scopes.
  • Plan verification, develop and maintain SystemVerilog/UVM testbenches, assertions, and coverage.
  • Manage regressions, failure triage, root-cause analysis, and issue closure with design teams.
  • Drive coverage closure and sign-off readiness for releases.
  • Oversee schedules, staffing, and deliverables to meet program milestones.
  • Recruit, mentor, and develop verification engineers; conduct performance management.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation, and reuse to improve DV efficiency.
  • Communicate verification status, risks, and readiness to management and cross-functional partners.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience. Preferred items listed where applicable.

  • Strong hands-on experience with SystemVerilog and UVM-based verification methodologies.
  • Proven technical leadership in design verification (DV technical lead, block/project owner).
  • Experience with verification planning, coverage-driven verification, regression management, and sign-off readiness.
  • Familiarity with EDA simulation tools and large-scale regression workflows.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and written/verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to operate effectively in a multi-site, cross-functional engineering environment.
  • Preferred: people-management experience including hiring, coaching, and performance management.
  • Preferred: experience with Synopsys VCS regression execution, GitHub Enterprise development workflows, AI tools, and familiarity with Ethernet, SERDES, PCIe, or HPC/AI systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent practical experience.
