VLSI Design Engineer for Server / Data Center Products
Role Summary
Work on RTL design, flows, and methodology for high-performance ASICs targeting server and data center markets, including AI and High Performance Compute. The role focuses on IP and SoC architecture, logic design, verification, integration, and silicon feedback.
Experience Level
Mid-level (approximately 3β7 years). Typical candidates have multiple years of ASIC design experience; see Education Requirements for formal minimums.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on RTL and architecture work, verification, and driving design improvements.
- Execute architecture and RTL design for SoCs and IP according to specifications.
- Define architecture, logic design, large-scale integration, and perform system-level simulation.
- Resolve architecture, design, or verification issues using established ASIC engineering practices.
- Develop and execute design and verification strategies for ASICs, SoCs, and IP cores.
- Participate in design and architecture reviews and provide technical analysis.
- Identify and implement flow and process improvements, including automation.
- Communicate design decisions clearly with team members and cross-functional peers; deliver silicon learnings to process and methodology teams.

- Proven ASIC and/or FPGA design experience, including RTL design, verification, validation, and integration.
- Familiarity with Server/Data Center IPs, relevant protocols, and interfaces.
- Experience designing arithmetic, computational, or machine-learning IPs.
- Strong understanding of design techniques for timing/speed optimization and power efficiency.
- Experience with SoC integration and system-level simulation.
- Ability to develop tools or scripts for process automation is an advantage.
- Effective communication, collaboration, and presentation skills; able to work in a team and step up during critical phases.
Education Requirements
Minimum qualifications (any one of): Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 4+ years of relevant ASIC design/verification/integration experience; OR Master's degree in Science, Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of relevant experience; OR PhD in Science, Engineering, or related field with 2+ years of relevant experience. Preferred fields: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science. Equivalent practical experience accepted according to the listed degree/experience combinations.
