Job Title

VLSI Design Automation Software Engineer

Role Summary

Member of the Backend Networking infrastructure team responsible for managing and maintaining compute, storage, and tooling that support VLSI design and verification. The role focuses on automation, monitoring, and developer productivity tooling, and collaborates with a remote engineering team.

Work includes developing automation, dashboards, and AI-assisted workflows to keep VLSI projects running efficiently.

Experience Level

Mid-level. Minimum 3 years' experience with VLSI Design Automation is required.

Responsibilities

The engineer will manage infrastructure and deliver software tools that improve VLSI development workflows.

  • Oversee and optimize compute and storage resources for VLSI projects.
  • Develop and maintain scripts and automation tools to streamline infrastructure tasks.
  • Design, implement, and maintain monitoring and reporting dashboards.
  • Create and integrate AI-assisted engineering workflows and agentic coding practices.
  • Participate in the full lifecycle of infrastructure tool development: design, testing, deployment, maintenance.
  • Coordinate closely with a remote team (Israel) and other DA teams to deliver solutions.

Requirements

Qualified candidates should meet the technical must-haves below; additional skills are desirable.

Must-have:

  • Minimum 3 years' experience with VLSI Design Automation.
  • Strong proficiency with Unix environments.
  • Proven experience in at least two programming languages, including Python, and scripting.
  • Experience using AI coding assistants or agentic development workflows.
  • Good debugging and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective interpersonal and collaboration skills for distributed teams.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with SQL and LSF scheduler.
  • GUI, Unix/web application development experience (e.g., React).
  • Hands-on experience with AI tools such as Cursor or Claude Code.
  • Experience building internal coding agents or integrating AI into engineering workflows.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree in computer science or computer engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
