Role Summary

Join the Product Enablement Solutions Group (PESG) CAD team to develop software tools, flows and EDA solutions that support Intel CPU design. This is a part-time student/intern role working on design implementation, verification flows and AI-enhanced CAD workflows.

Experience Level

Entry-level student / internship role. Part-time. Intended for current students; no specific years of professional experience required.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include hands-on development and integration of CAD tools and workflows for CPU design.

• Develop and maintain design implementation solutions and FPGA/ASIC flows used for CPU design.
• Integrate AI/ML techniques for layout optimization and automated design processes.
• Create verification flows to detect modelling gaps and silicon risk.
• Work with semiconductor, IP and EDA partners to evaluate and integrate new tools and technologies.
• Collaborate with Intel design teams, product managers and software engineers to deliver the CPU design environment.
• Participate in an agile team on assignments that combine traditional EDA and modern AI capabilities.

Requirements

Technical skills and competencies required or beneficial for the role.

• Must-have: Basic software development skills and familiarity with programming or scripting concepts.
• Must-have: Basic understanding of digital hardware or VLSI design concepts.
• Must-have: Comfortable working in a Linux environment.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with Python and TCL.
• Nice-to-have: Experience with industry design implementation and timing verification tools.
• Nice-to-have: Exposure to AI/ML applied to EDA or design automation.

Education Requirements

B.Sc. student in Computer Science or Electrical Engineering with at least four semesters remaining. (Position is targeted at current undergraduate students pursuing a technical degree.)
