Visiting Faculty, AI and Systems Co-design Team
Role Summary
Research position embedded in Meta's AI and Systems Co-design team to perform pathfinding research across AI hardware, software, and algorithms. The role involves collaborating with internal teams, identifying research opportunities, and sharing results both internally and through external publications.
Experience Level
Senior-level research appointment; candidate is expected to be an established researcher (tenure-track or tenured faculty) with a demonstrated publication record.
Responsibilities
The role focuses on research, collaboration, and knowledge transfer across AI hardware, software, and algorithms.
- Conduct original research spanning AI hardware, software, and algorithms.
- Identify and pursue pathfinding research opportunities in collaboration with the team and broader organization.
- Publish results externally and present findings internally to inform product and research directions.
- Introduce and bring leading ideas and researchers to Meta through talks and internal summaries.
- Mentor and guide teammates on exploratory and pathfinding projects.
Requirements
Must-have research experience and demonstrable contributions in the relevant technical areas.
- Demonstrated publication track record in theoretical and/or empirical research.
- Relevant research experience working on AI hardware, ML systems/compilers, AI accelerators, and/or distributed systems.
- Evidence of achieving significant research results (publications, grants, fellowships) preferred.
- Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization in the country of employment.
Education Requirements
Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. The posting expects candidates who are tenure-track or tenured faculty in CS or related fields and who have a strong publication record; equivalent professional research experience is acceptable where stated.
