Verification Software Engineer
QualcommJob Title
Verification Software Engineer
Role Summary
Work on system-level validation, content quality, and scalable validation frameworks for Qualcomm SoCs across pre- and post-silicon phases. The role spans hardware and software boundaries to develop, validate, and scale bare-metal test content, automation infrastructure, and silicon debug capabilities.
This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.
Role Summary
Information not specified.
Experience Level
Entry-level - open to new graduates and candidates with a few years of experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities focus on creating and scaling validation content, automating system tests, and debugging complex SoC issues.
- Develop, validate, and scale system-level test content and automation frameworks (bare-metal and Linux-based).
- Perform hardware-software co-debug across firmware, drivers, and hardware interfaces; analyze failures and reduce debug turnaround.
- Design reproducible, high-throughput concurrency and stress tests for performance, power, and scalability evaluation.
- Build debug and analysis infrastructure: logging, failure analysis, and tools integration.
- Collaborate with architecture, design, firmware, and validation teams to drive silicon bring-up and quality.
- Work on domain-specific tracks (Modem, RF, SERDES) to create targeted validation and performance tests.
- Use lab and silicon debug tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, kernel debuggers) during bring-up and validation.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and relevant experience.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and Python for low-level and test code development.
- Experience with embedded software, device drivers, or bare-metal development and Linux-based debug.
- Strong system-level debugging skills across SW/HW boundaries and familiarity with silicon debug methodologies.
- Experience with simulation/emulation platforms or RTL understanding is beneficial.
- Hands-on experience with lab/debug equipment (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes) is expected.
- Ability to develop scalable automation, logging, and failure-analysis frameworks.
- Nice-to-have: domain knowledge in modem baseband, RF front-end, SERDES/high-speed links, clock/power management, or performance/power analysis.
- Nice-to-have: experience applying ML/AI techniques to validation, log analysis, or code-generation workflows.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related Science/Engineering field, or equivalent practical experience.
