Job Title

Verification Software Engineer

Role Summary

Join Qualcomm's Modem/Chiplet Validation & Emulation (SVE) team to develop and scale system-level validation content and frameworks for Qualcomm SoCs across pre- and post-silicon phases. Work spans hardware and software boundaries to enable bare-metal validation, automation, and silicon debug for mobile and data-center class platforms.

This position is not eligible for Qualcomm immigration sponsorship.

Experience Level

Entry-level β€” open to new graduates and candidates with a few years of experience.

Responsibilities

Deliver, validate, and scale system-level test content and frameworks; collaborate across architecture, design, firmware, software, and validation teams to ensure silicon quality.

  • Develop bare-metal and low-level test code and automation (C/C++, Python, assembly).
  • Create, extend, and maintain scalable validation and debug frameworks for functional, performance, concurrency, and stress tests.
  • Perform hardware-software co-debug across SoC subsystems, firmware, drivers, and hardware interfaces.
  • Work with pre-silicon platforms (simulation, emulation, FPGA) and RTL-level validation readiness.
  • Analyze failures, improve reproducibility, and reduce debug turnaround time.
  • Use lab and silicon debug tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, kernel debuggers) to triage issues.
  • Apply AI/ML techniques to validation, log analysis, and code-generation workflows where applicable.
  • Track and optimize system-level performance, power, latency, bandwidth, QoS, and concurrency behavior.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for candidates; education details are summarized separately below.

  • Proficiency in C/C++ and Python; experience with low-level or bare-metal programming and device drivers.
  • Strong debugging skills across hardware/software boundaries and familiarity with firmware and kernel debugging.
  • Experience with validation content and framework development, automation, and test infrastructure.
  • Familiarity with pre-silicon platforms (emulation, FPGA) and basic RTL understanding.
  • Knowledge of modem, RF, or high-speed SERDES interfaces, clock/power management, and low-power modes preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with lab and silicon debug tools (JTAG, logic analyzers, oscilloscopes) and failure analysis.
  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and communicate technical findings clearly.
  • Nice-to-have: experience applying AI/ML to validation, and prior work on modem baseband, RF front-end testing, or high-speed link bring-up and driver development.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's degree (BS) in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
