Veloce Emulation Application Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership and customer-facing support for Veloce hardware-assisted verification and emulation solutions. Work with customers, sales, and R&D to deploy emulation methodologies, resolve platform issues, and optimize verification flows for complex SoC/ASIC projects.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 5+ years of hands-on experience with hardware-assisted verification or emulation platforms.
Responsibilities
Deliver technical support, deployment, and enablement for emulation-based verification solutions across evaluation and post-sales phases.
- Perform platform bring-up, debug, and performance optimization for Veloce emulation hardware.
- Support virtual and in-circuit emulation (ICE) bring-up for interfaces such as JTAG, UART, Flash, eMMC/SD, PCIe, DDR, and Ethernet.
- Provide demonstrations, technical presentations, and customer training on emulation workflows and tools.
- Troubleshoot customer issues and collaborate with R&D and product teams to translate feedback into product improvements.
- Stay current with verification methodologies (e.g., UVM) and relevant industry trends (AI/ML, automotive, hyperscale).
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and practical experience for immediate contribution; nice-to-have items listed separately.
- Must-have: 5+ years of hands-on experience with hardware-assisted verification/emulation platforms (examples: Veloce Strato, Palladium, ZeBu or equivalent).
- Must-have: Experience with emulation acceleration, in-circuit emulation (ICE), and hybrid verification workflows.
- Must-have: Proficiency in HDL (SystemVerilog, VHDL) and HVL/C/SystemC; experience with scripting (Python, TCL) preferred.
- Must-have: Strong customer-facing skills with effective oral and written English communication; analytical problem-solving orientation.
- Nice-to-have: Experience verifying high-speed interfaces (PCIe 6.0, DDR5, Ethernet 400/800G, CXL 3.0, UCIE 2.0).
- Nice-to-have: Experience with power analysis / low-power tools, DFT architecture, fault-injection frameworks, coverage and assertion methodologies.
- Willingness to travel for system deployment or cross-site collaboration (limited, up to ~25%).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
