Verification Intern - Solutions Engineering
ArmJob Title
Verification Intern - Solutions Engineering
Role Summary
Work with the Solutions Engineering team to analyze SoC-level verification flows for CoreSight debug and trace features and deliver a reusable testbench framework that improves verification setup, reuse, and scalability. The role involves hands-on implementation, simulation-based validation, and documentation.
Experience Level
Entry-level internship. Six-month placement starting in 2027; candidates must be enrolled in a higher-education program (see Education Requirements).
Responsibilities
Evaluate current verification approaches, design and implement a reusable framework, validate it on representative SoC use cases, and document the solution.
- Review SoC-level verification flows focusing on CoreSight debug and trace features.
- Assess existing testbenches for reuse, scalability, and bring-up effort.
- Define the architecture of a reusable SoC debug/trace testbench.
- Develop a plug-and-play framework to integrate memory-mapped elements and selected CoreSight components.
- Demonstrate the framework on representative SoC use cases and run simulations.
- Measure improvements in setup time and debugging effort compared with the existing approach.
- Document architecture, integration process, and reuse guidelines.
Requirements
Required technical skills and expected capabilities.
- Knowledge of SoC- and IP-level verification fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Verilog, SystemVerilog, and Universal Verification Methodology (UVM).
- Proficiency in software programming and scripting for verification tasks.
- Ability to run simulations and analyze verification results.
- Good written and verbal English communication skills.
Nice-to-have:
- Understanding of ARM architectures and embedded hardware systems.
- Strong mathematical aptitude and ability to learn quickly.
Education Requirements
Must be enrolled in a higher-education program (required for Arm internships). Preferred: Master's degree in Electronic or Microelectronic Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent technical discipline; alternative degrees accepted with relevant experience. A French "Convention de Stage" (tripartite internship agreement) is required for internships in France. Applicants must have the right to work in France for the full internship period; Arm cannot provide visa sponsorship. Internship duration: 6 months starting in 2027.
