Job Title

Verification Engineer - PCIE

Role Summary

Verify ASIC design, architecture, golden models and micro-architecture of PCI Express controllers at IP and sub-system levels for GPU and SoC products. Work on verification infrastructure, test plans, and collaborate with architects, designers, and pre/post-silicon teams to ensure design correctness.

Experience Level

Entry-level - typically 2+ years of relevant verification experience.

Responsibilities

Primary verification responsibilities include planning, building, and executing verification environments and tests.

  • Define verification scope, develop test plans, and implement tests for PCIe controller IP/sub-systems.
  • Build reusable bus functional models, monitors, checkers, and scoreboards following coverage-driven methodology.
  • Develop and maintain verification infrastructure and golden models; run simulations and analyze results.
  • Collaborate with architecture, design, and silicon teams to debug issues and close coverage gaps.
  • Use coverage metrics to guide verification closure and reporting.

Requirements

Must-have verification skills and tool experience.

  • Experience in verification using Verilog and SystemVerilog at Unit/Sub-system/SOC level.
  • Experience with verification of IP or interconnect protocols (PCI Express, USB, SATA).
  • Experience developing functional coverage based constrained-random verification environments.
  • Familiarity with DV methodologies such as UVM or VMM and industry-standard simulation/debug tools.

Nice-to-have:

  • Knowledge of PCIe protocol (Gen3 and above) and strong SystemVerilog testbench skills.
  • Scripting or software experience (Perl, Python, or similar) for automation and test development.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and interpersonal skills.

Education Requirements

B.Tech. or M.Tech. degree; typically 2+ years of relevant industry experience required.
