Job Title
Verification Engineer - Media IP
Role Summary
Join Arm's Systems Media IP team to develop and maintain verification environments for Image Signal Processors (ISPs), Display Processors, and Video codecs used in Arm compute subsystems across automotive, IoT, and client markets.
The role focuses on specifying and building verification testbenches, improving verification methodology and flows, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality IP.
Experience Level
Mid-level (experienced verification engineer). Specific years of experience not specified; role expects prior verification ownership and may include technical or team leadership for senior hires.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include ownership of verification activities and improving verification efficiency and quality.
- Own verification for unit-level or multi-unit hierarchies, or act as verification lead for an overall IP (ISP, Display, Video).
- Architect verification IP and full verification environments (SV-UVM based).
- Develop and improve constrained-random testbenches and verification infrastructure.
- Review and assess proposed design changes for verification complexity and coverage impact.
- Analyze simulation data—including using data science or machine learning techniques—to accelerate bug discovery and debug.
- Identify and implement cross-team process and methodology improvements to increase verification efficiency.
- Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure IP works well in system-level contexts.
- Mentor and support other verification engineers on the team.
Requirements
Must-have technical skills and experience; preferred items listed separately.
- Proven experience with constrained-random verification and ownership of complex verification environments.
- In-depth knowledge of SystemVerilog and UVM; ability to develop reusable and scalable verification code.
- Strong scripting skills to develop and support verification flows.
- Solid software engineering fundamentals (object-oriented programming, data structures, algorithms).
- Familiarity with tools and processes for testbench development and verification completion.
- Technical or team leadership experience for more senior roles.
Preferred (nice-to-have):
- Team leadership and mentoring experience.
- Multiprocessing microarchitecture experience and knowledge of bus protocols (e.g., AMBA APB/AHB/AXI).
- Experience with Formal Verification testbenches.
- Experience on video codec, ISP, or display projects and image-processing algorithms (tone mapping, noise reduction, motion estimation, transform coding).
- Experience with Functional Safety for automotive (e.g., ISO 26262, IEC 61508).
- Experience with Continuous Integration flows for verification.
Education Requirements
Not specified.
