Job Title
Verification Engineer - HWPM
Role Summary
Responsible for system-level verification of Hardware Performance Monitor (HWPM) IP across unit, subsystem, and SoC levels. Work within the HWPM team to develop verification strategies, tests, and reusable testbenches that ensure feature completeness and performance visibility for NVIDIA SoCs and GPUs.
Experience Level
Mid-level. Candidates are expected to have practical verification experience; the role typically expects at least 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Define and implement verification plans for HWPM microarchitecture and design functionality at unit, subsystem, and SoC levels.
- Design and maintain reusable, scalable testbenches and verification components using SystemVerilog and UVM methodologies.
- Write and run tests, automate verification flows with scripting, and analyze results to drive verification closure.
- Collaborate with architects, RTL designers, and software engineers to resolve issues and improve performance visibility.
- Debug failures using waveforms, logs, and simulation tools to isolate root causes and track fixes to closure.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- Hands-on experience in unit and/or system-level verification.
- Proficiency in SystemVerilog and experience developing or maintaining testbenches.
- Proficiency in Python or equivalent scripting languages for automation and test development.
- Strong debugging skills: ability to read waveforms, analyze logs, and isolate issues.
- Familiarity with simulation and debug tools such as VCS, Xcelium, Verdi, or similar environments.
- Good understanding of RTL design concepts and practical experience with Verilog/SystemVerilog.
- Clear communication and ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with UVM (Universal Verification Methodology).
- Experience with performance measurement methodologies for silicon verification.
Education Requirements
M.Tech. (or equivalent) in VLSI or Electronics Engineering, or B.Tech. in a related engineering discipline. The posting also allows equivalent practical experience in lieu of the listed degrees.
