Job Title

Verification Engineer - Core Engineering

Role Summary

Work on ASIC verification within Core Development to plan, build, and sign off verification environments for complex ASIC/SoC projects. Collaborate with RTL designers, software, implementation, and trading teams to translate real-world requirements into robust, verified designs.

Experience Level

Mid-level - at least 3 years of design verification experience, preferably on complex ASIC/SoC projects.

Responsibilities

Accountable for verification strategy, execution, and closure across projects.

  • Own verification environments from planning through sign-off: define strategies, test plans, and measurable completion criteria.
  • Develop scalable, reusable verification components: testbenches, reference models, stimulus, scoreboards, and tools.
  • Drive verification closure using coverage, assertions, and regression results; assess and mitigate risk.
  • Investigate and resolve complex hardware/software failures; isolate root causes and clarify spec ambiguities.
  • Make engineering trade-offs between verification depth, development effort, and delivery timelines to enable right-first-time silicon.
  • Improve productivity by developing automation, CI, regression infrastructure, and verification tooling.
  • Contribute verification input to architecture and design reviews.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience.

  • Minimum 3 years of design verification experience on ASIC/SoC projects.
  • Experience creating and executing verification plans and driving metric-based sign-off.
  • Strong HDL and programming skills: SystemVerilog and Python; proficiency in C/C++.
  • Solid understanding of digital design principles and ability to reason about hardware behavior and corner cases.
  • Systematic debugging skills across hardware and software.
  • Ability to turn high-level or evolving requirements into clear, testable specifications.
  • Collaborative, reliable communicator with accountability for deliverables.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience with UVM, cocotb, or assertion-based verification.
  • Experience with formal verification tools and techniques.
  • Experience developing front-end ASIC tooling, verification infrastructure, or engineering workflows.
  • Familiarity with processor architectures, assembly language, and embedded software development.

Education Requirements

Degree in electrical/electronic engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related discipline.
