FractileJob Title
Verification Engineer
Role Summary
Join the verification team building ML/AI integrated circuits for data-center scale inference. The role is based in Fractile's London or Bristol office and focuses on ensuring RTL releases meet functional requirements and tape-out quality.
You will work closely with modelling, system architecture, and RTL design teams to plan and execute verification, improve verification workflows and tooling, and bring software-driven approaches to hardware verification.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 3+ years of relevant verification or software-for-hardware experience.
Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Plan and execute pre-silicon verification to validate RTL against specifications.
- Design and implement testbenches, stimulus, checkers, and coverage strategies.
- Read, debug and triage RTL (SystemVerilog) issues and debug waveforms.
- Collaborate with architecture, modelling and RTL teams to refine specs and verification scope.
- Improve verification workflows, tooling, and practices to increase tape-out quality and reduce cost.
- Contribute to verification infrastructure and software-driven verification processes.
Requirements
Must-have and preferred skills:
- Must-have: Strong software skills (Python or another object-oriented language such as C++).
- Must-have: Understanding of digital hardware concepts and ability to read and debug RTL in SystemVerilog.
- Must-have: Familiarity with waveform debugging.
- Candidates with UVM experience or a strong software background are encouraged to apply even without extensive RTL experience.
- Nice-to-have: Pre-silicon RTL verification, verification planning and execution from specification, building testbenches, stimulus creation, checker development, and coverage definition/closure.
