Job Title

Verification Engineer

Role Summary

Work on a Chandler-based CPU design verification team to verify next-generation Cortex-A processor designs with a focus on memory-system functional blocks. Use simulation and formal verification techniques to validate RTL, improve verification environments, and support delivery across engineering phases.

No relocation package is available. Salary range provided: $130,100–$176,000 per year.

Experience Level

Mid-level. The posting does not specify a required number of years of experience.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include block-level functional verification of CPU memory-system components and collaborating with architecture and design teams to resolve issues.

  • Develop SystemVerilog UVM and formal verification environments and tests for block-level verification.
  • Create and maintain verification plans for assigned functional blocks.
  • Generate and run tests on logic simulation models; investigate and debug functional RTL issues using simulation and debug tools.
  • Define and implement functional and statistical coverage; drive coverage closure and improve testbenches.
  • Collaborate with architects and designers to understand memory-system behaviour and resolve verification issues.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and experience for the role.

  • Practical experience in pre-silicon design verification, including developing and debugging verification environments for RTL designs.
  • Knowledge of CPU memory-subsystem microarchitecture, including load/store functionality, L2 cache and memory management units (MMUs).
  • Experience applying simulation and/or formal verification methods to verify hardware functional units.
  • Software engineering capability in object-oriented programming, data structures and algorithms.
  • Experience with SystemVerilog and UVM.

Nice-to-have:

  • Experience verifying high-performance CPU memory systems (cache coherence, virtual memory, address translation, out-of-order execution or result return).
  • Knowledge of processor microarchitecture concepts such as register renaming, reservation stations or processor pipelines.
  • Experience building reusable UVM testbenches and using functional coverage-driven verification methods.
  • Experience with software engineering practices such as design patterns, profiling, unit testing or programming in multiple languages.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or master’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and practical experience.
