Job Title
Veloce Emulation Application Engineer
Role Summary
Provide technical leadership and customer-facing support for Veloce hardware-assisted verification and related emulation solutions. Work with customers, sales, and R&D to deploy emulation methodologies, resolve integration and verification issues, and ensure successful evaluation and post-sales projects for complex SoC/ASIC verification.
Experience Level
Mid-level β typically 5+ years of hands-on experience with hardware-assisted verification or emulation platforms.
Responsibilities
Operate as the primary technical contact for customers adopting emulation-based verification workflows and support pre- and post-sales activities.
- Provide technical support for Veloce emulation platforms including bring-up, debug, and performance optimization.
- Support Virtual & In-Circuit Emulation (ICE) bring-up for low-speed interfaces (JTAG, UART, Flash, eMMC/SD) and high-speed interfaces (PCIe, DDR, Ethernet), ensuring protocol compliance and performance targets.
- Deliver customer presentations, demonstrations, and training on emulation workflows, tools, and methodologies.
- Troubleshoot integration and verification issues in complex SoC/ASIC environments and propose solutions.
- Collaborate with product marketing and R&D to communicate customer feedback and request product improvements or features.
- Keep current with industry trends in emulation, verification methodologies (e.g., UVM), and relevant technologies (AI/ML, automotive, hyperscale).
Requirements
Core technical skills and experience required; additional items indicated as strong pluses.
-
Must-have: 5+ years of hands-on experience with hardware-assisted verification/emulation platforms (examples: Veloce Strato, Palladium, ZeBu, or equivalent).
-
Must-have: Experience with emulation acceleration, in-circuit emulation (ICE), and hybrid verification workflows.
-
Must-have: Proficiency in HDL (SystemVerilog, VHDL) and HVL/C-level languages (C/SystemC); scripting experience (Python, TCL) preferred.
-
Must-have: Strong customer-facing communication skills in oral and written English and the ability to provide technical training and demos.
-
Nice-to-have: Hands-on verification experience with high-speed interfaces such as PCIe 6.0, DDR5, Ethernet 400/800G, CXL 3.0, UCIE 2.0.
-
Nice-to-have: Experience with emulation off-load technology, power analysis/low-power tools, DFT architecture, fault injection frameworks, coverage, and assertions.
- Willingness to travel for customer deployment or cross-site collaboration (limited, up to ~25%).
Education Requirements
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field (as stated in the posting).
