Role Summary

Design, implement, and maintain automated validation and verification for Synopsys EDA software to ensure product reliability across releases. Work closely with development, product, and support teams to translate requirements into scalable test strategies and to investigate and resolve failures.

The team is global and multidisciplinary; the role emphasizes automation, root-cause analysis, and improving test coverage to prevent regressions in complex semiconductor design tools.

Experience Level

Mid-level: typically requires 6+ years of hands-on experience in software validation, quality assurance, or product verification.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include developing and running automated tests, diagnosing failures, and improving validation processes.

• Design and maintain automated test scenarios and frameworks using Python, Tcl, and shell scripting.
• Execute regression suites across releases and analyze test results to detect functional regressions.
• Investigate failures, produce reproducible defect reports, and collaborate with developers on root-cause analysis.
• Translate feature requirements into test plans and coverage that reflect real-world usage.
• Participate in code reviews focused on testability and recommend design changes to improve validation.
• Identify gaps in coverage, propose automation opportunities, and help refine testing processes.

Requirements

• 6+ years of hands-on experience in software validation, QA, or product verification.
• Strong scripting skills with Python, Tcl, and shell for building and maintaining automation.
• Proven ability to analyze complex system behavior, debug failures, and determine root cause.
• Experience designing and executing automated regression suites and producing actionable defect reports.
• Effective written and verbal communication; able to document defects and explain reproduction steps clearly.
• Ability to work autonomously, prioritize test coverage, and collaborate across time zones.
• Nice-to-have: experience with EDA tools or semiconductor design flows.
• Nice-to-have: exposure to AI/ML systems or validation of AI-enhanced tools.

Education Requirements

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronics Engineering, Semiconductor Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
