Job Title
Validation Engineering Manager
Role Summary
Lead RF transceiver validation for Wi‑Fi and Ultra‑Wideband (UWB) SoCs with integrated MCUs. The role combines hands-on RF debug, measurement, PCB validation, test automation and people leadership within the RF Connectivity / Radio Design teams in Bengaluru.
Experience Level
Senior-level — minimum 5 years of relevant RF validation and debugging experience as stated by the employer.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include hands-on validation work and leading a small engineering team to deliver RF transceiver products.
- Analyze and debug transceiver SoCs: identify root causes (power/bias, register sequencing, board issues) and drive corrective actions.
- Perform and interpret RF, IF and DC measurements (noise figure, gain, linearity metrics such as P1dB/IIP2/IIP3, IQ gain/phase, LO leakage, DC operating points).
- Develop and review PCB schematics and layouts; select materials and work with external PCB service providers.
- Develop test automation and instrument interfaces; acquire, process and visualize measurement data across PVT corners to isolate IC vs setup issues.
- Design and program digital interfaces such as SPI, UART and vendor-specific control interfaces.
- Mentor junior engineers on RF fundamentals and system-level validation; collaborate closely with radio design and product teams.
Requirements
Must-have technical experience and skills; preferred attributes are listed separately.
- Minimum 5+ years of RF validation and debugging experience focused on RF IPs and transceivers.
- Proven experience mentoring and developing junior engineers.
- Strong understanding of RF systems and key lab instruments.
- Proficiency in at least two of the following areas: transceiver SoC debug, RF measurements, RF PCB development, test automation/instrument interfacing, digital interface programming (SPI/UART/UCI).
- Practical coding skills for test automation and instrument control; ability to process and visualize measurement data and apply basic statistics.
- Familiarity with PCB tool flows such as Altium and Cadence Allegro.
- Team player with strong collaboration skills and engagement with product and radio design teams.
Education Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (specified by employer). No other degrees, fields, certifications, or equivalent‑experience language were stated in the posting.
