Job Title
Validation Engineer — Pre & Post-Silicon Functional Validation (Compute Subsystem)
Role Summary
Validate subsystem IPs and platform functionality across pre-silicon and post-silicon stages for the Compute Sub-System (CSS) team in Bengaluru. Work with architecture, design, DV, firmware, and software teams to ensure production-quality silicon delivery.
Experience Level
Entry / Early-career — 2–3 years of relevant industry experience in SoC or subsystem functional validation.
Responsibilities
Primary responsibilities include:
- Develop and execute pre-silicon and post-silicon validation plans for compute subsystems.
- Build and maintain test environments, automation frameworks, and validation infrastructure using emulation and silicon platforms.
- Perform system-level functional validation of CPU clusters, coherent interconnects, memory controllers, and peripheral integration.
- Drive root-cause analysis and debug hardware, firmware, and software interactions; support silicon bring-up and board-level testing.
- Develop diagnostic, stress, and performance workloads to validate functionality, power, and performance.
- Analyse coverage gaps and contribute to improving validation efficiency and quality metrics.
- Contribute to automation and continuous integration for validation workflows.
Requirements
Must-have skills and experience:
- 1–3 years industry experience in SoC, subsystem, or IP functional validation.
- Understanding of ARM-based SoC architecture, AMBA protocols (AXI/ACE/CHI), cache coherency, and CPU subsystems.
- Proficiency in C/C++ and scripting (Python) for test automation and analysis.
- Experience with hardware validation tools (logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, JTAG) and pre-silicon simulation/emulation environments.
- Familiarity with C-based IP drivers and firmware for system bring-up.
- Strong analytical and debugging skills; ability to triage complex hardware/software interactions.
Nice-to-have:
- Experience with silicon lab bring-up, board-level validation, or continuous integration for validation workflows.
