Validation / Characterization Engineering Intern

Role Summary

Join the validation team for the Isolated Analog-Digital-Converters group in Freising, Germany. The role focuses on electrical and parametric characterization of integrated circuits, silicon debug support, PCB design, test-software development, measurement automation and data analysis across the new product development process.

Experience Level

Entry-level (Internship). Intended for current undergraduate or graduate students; minimum placement duration is 20 weeks.

Responsibilities

Primary responsibilities include laboratory characterization, verification and test development for mixed-signal ICs. Work will be project-based and cross-functional.

  • Characterize key product parameters using laboratory instruments (oscilloscope, spectrum analyzer, pattern generator, etc.).
  • Verify, optimize and automate measurement and test concepts.
  • Develop or support PCB and test setups for measurements and silicon debug.
  • Process, perform statistical analysis on, and present measurement data.
  • Own or contribute to development projects such as measurement automation, throughput optimization, or concept-board development.

Requirements

Must-have technical skills and constraints, followed by desirable skills.

  • Must-have: Good programming skills - LabVIEW, Python, and C/C++ are preferred.
  • Must-have: Good understanding of analog-to-digital converters and analog front-ends.
  • Must-have: Basic awareness of parasitics in analog measurements and ability to derive associated errors.
  • Must-have: Availability for a minimum 20-week internship.

Nice-to-have:

  • Demonstrated proficiency with bench test equipment and metrology.
  • Experience with analog-mixed-signal parts and signal processing.
  • Strong time management, communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills; ability to take initiative and ramp up on new systems.

Education Requirements
