Job Title

UX Validation Sr, Validation Engineer

Role Summary

Technical lead for UX audit and validation of MCU, MPU and power product deliverables. Work cross-functionally with hardware design, software development and system engineering teams to assess product readiness against Renesas's Whole Product Framework.

Experience Level

Senior — typically 5–7 years of experience in embedded hardware, system design and validation involving microcontrollers and microprocessors.

Responsibilities

Plan and execute UX audits and validations for new products and provide clear, technical feedback to product teams.

• Interpret customer UX requirements and map them to the Whole Product Framework.
• Plan and perform validation and audit activities on product deliverables (hardware, software, documentation).
• Report findings to product groups, propose improvements, and drive enhancement activities.
• Set up and run semiconductor evaluation environments for hardware and software testing.
• Support creation and review of technical documentation (datasheets, user manuals, application notes, EVK schematics).

Requirements

Must-have technical skills, tools, and behaviors.

• Strong understanding of MCU and MPU architecture, including ARM A/M series, peripherals, power/clock/reset domains, and low-power design.
• Familiarity with software and hardware design environments and required deliverables for mass-market system designers.
• Ability to set up semiconductor evaluation systems and perform basic hardware and software evaluations.
• Knowledge of PMICs, MOSFETs and common discrete components used in power design.
• Experience performing competitive analysis of semiconductor vendors and design environments.
• Proven ability to collaborate across diverse, international teams and manage multi‑stakeholder interactions.
• Business-level proficiency in English and Japanese, spoken and written.
• Minimum 5–7 years of relevant embedded hardware/system design and validation experience.
• Nice-to-have: experience with competitor hardware (ST, TI, NXP) and strong passion for embedded systems.

Education Requirements

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or a related technical field ("University degree graduate or above" stated). No certifications mentioned.
